Mike Hatcher has dedicated nearly his entire life to the insurance industry in Central Florida. Under the tutelage and mentorship of his father, Marion Hatcher, he began his career at a young age sweeping floors and managing files for the J. Rolfe Davis Insurance Agency started by his grandfather, former Orlando Mayor J. Rolfe Davis. After earning a degree in business from the University of Florida in 1981, Mike joined the agency as a Property and Casualty agent.
As the region flourished, the agency thrived, becoming one of the South’s most respected independent insurance firms. A proud third-generation Orlando native, Mike established himself as a specialist in commercial insurance. Beyond his professional achievements, he actively contributed to his community through numerous philanthropic and leadership roles.
Mike eventually became a partner at J. Rolfe Davis Insurance, leveraging his extensive network of business and social connections to help drive the agency’s expansion. During a later buyout phase, Mike realized his long-standing ambition to establish his own independent agency.
In 2002, Hatcher Insurance was born. Eighteen years later, Mike sold the agency to three trusted colleagues and friends, to continue his legacy of mentorship and professional excellence.
Beyond Mike’s professional career, he has had an enduring commitment to service. For more than 25 years, he has been a dedicated member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida Board of Directors, including serving as Chairman and leading numerous committees. His leadership extends to past roles such as President and North Orlando Kiwanis Distinguished Lieutenant Governor, Chairman of the Greater Orlando Chamber of Commerce HobNob, Chairman of the City of Orlando Code Board, and many other community positions.
Mike and his wife Holly reside in College Park. They are proud parents of three children and doting grandparents to their granddaughter.
